Case study: The big freeze of December 2010 caused damage to even the best prepared sites. For example, one power generator had frost damage to their fire appliance pump. Insurance cover required an operational ready fire truck and the Christmas shut-down was looming. The possibility that this multi million pound operation would be out of commission, even during the Christmas and New Year period, seemed very real. However, Hawkes Fire was able to step in and hire a county style appliance at a very competitive rate. Job done.
