Trailer Pumps
Large atmospheric storage tank fires need one thing above all else – foam solution applied at the correct application rate and delivered from a safe distance. Hawkes Fire trailer pumps have been developed to do just that.
With 15,000 lpm at up to 10 bar available it’s now possible to fight fires in tanks with a mobile capability that would have been impossible even 25 years ago. Designed and fabricated at our own workshops we are able to offer our UK and export customers a cost effective but bespoke service so that you get exactly what’s needed for your particular hazards.
The high pressure and high volume Patterson pumps are driven by 800hp (588kW) water-cooled V12 diesel engines mounted on a road legal chassis capable of being towed by an industrial tractor or a draw bar prime mover. An additional hose trailer completes the convoy, allowing the easy laying out of the 5in (125mm) Hi-Vol hose.
Combined with a hose laying unit to feed several kilometres of 125mm Angus Hi-Vol hose, your site can plan for large tank fires. Featuring a specially formulated high grade synthetic rubber extruded through a synthetic woven jacket, it offers the same high resistance to abrasion, heat, chemicals and oil during operational use, and to UV, Ozone and weathering during storage. Using larger bore hose and Stortz couplings provides key benefits such as reduced pressure drop over standard 64/70mm lay flat hose coupled with a reduction in the ‘spaghetti effect’ as emergency responders attempt to deliver the water capacity needed to fight large tank fires when using many more standard hoses.
